When I met a woman who was ranked as the third-best downhill longboarder in the world, I knew I wanted to tell her story. The fast-paced, exciting nature of the subject was well-suited to a video format, so I pitched the piece to my editors while working as an intern at KTVX, the local ABC4 affiliate. I coordinated and helped conduct the interview, filmed a stand-up for the video and worked with the photographer to craft a joint vision for the B-roll.
Once I got back into the studio, I wrote and voiced over a script and edited the package with Edius, a new software I learned how to use over the course of my internship. This piece demonstrates my ability not only to tell a compelling story in video but also to handle every piece of a multimedia project from start to finish.
